Rainy summer weekends have the incredible ability to evoke a sense of nostalgia that can’t be ignored. Since leaving Ottawa, and my position with Ottawa Life Magazine as the Home & Design Editor, I’ve been somewhat preoccupied with other things. However, while rummaging through my vintage steamer trunk of decor items, I realized just how much I miss writing about my little weekend projects.
DesignerDIY (do-it-yourself) was created as a resource to help you get the most out of your decorating dollar. It’s easy to spend a small fortune on your home decorating, but you don’t have to.
Today, I am going to share with you my latest table setting featuring a few of my favourite Walmart finds.
Featured above are the Hometrends Acacia wood bowls set a top of the Pioneer Woman Paige 12 piece dinnerware set, complimented with the most adorable butter dish and Oil & Vinegar dispensers I ever did see!
I absolutely adore how pairing the feminine features and scalloped edges of the dishes with the somewhat masculine presence of the wooden bowls creates a perfectly balanced Country Couture place setting.
Now isn’t this darling?! I’ve been searching for the perfect butter dish for quite sometime and was utterly ecstatic when I came across this little number today. I absolutely love the detailing and little brushed gold handle.
What about you? Where do you shop when you’re looking for your everyday household items?
