Diamonds. Pearls. Feathers and Fringe.

Really…what more can a gal ask for? There is no era in my mind that exudes Glamour more than the 1920s.

I have been obsessed with this fashion and the notion of Gatsby for as long as I can remember, so when I scrolled past a sponsored post for Party like Gatsby on Facebook, the impulse ticket purchase for this event was an instant no brainer. With it’s 2019 debut in Copenhagen on New Year’s Eve, this looks to be an outstanding date night for those that share my love of this era. Hell, I’m even considering travelling to some of the other locations listed on their international tour – Spectacle Extraordinaire – just to partake.

Now the fun begins…what to wear?!

I mean seriously, when you’re dealing with diamonds, pearls, sequins, feathers and fringe can you ever really have too many options?!? For the sake of intensity, let me just reiterate how much I love 1920s fashion. 😍

Let’s start with the shoes…for awhile now, I have been obsessing over what designer shoes 👠 I want to add to my collection and now with such an amazing event to attend, finding the perfect shoe is a must!

Although, Valentino’s rock studded pumps have been an object of my affection, they didn’t quite suit the era of style I was after.

Since I had such a specific vintage style (and budget) in mind, I had to step outside of the conventional online shopping box and step into the world of high end designer consignment. This is where my NWT (new with tags – for those unsure of online consignment lingo) black beauties would await their future destiny…my feet!

PRADA offered exactly what I was looking for – an exceptional pair of black leather, vintage style rock studded beauties! Made in Italy with impeccable detail, these classic peep toe Mary Jane stilettos with ankle straps, shiny silver heels and the gold PRADA embellishment on each sole are the perfect choice to complete my look.

Just in case I haven’t mentioned it already, there are three little words that give me heart palpitations and send shivers down my spine… ‘Made in Italy’. 🇮🇹 Bonus – click the image below and sign up to our mailing list if you’d like to know where I scored these!

Now if only I could find this quilted PRADA crossbody leather wallet somewhere, I’d be over the moon. So Universe, in my celestial state, I’m leaving that one with you. 😘

Luckily, quality 1920s flapper fashion and accessories are readily (and rapidly) available on Amazon.ca through a fabulous little boutique. My first selection arrived on my doorstep 2 days after I bought the tickets, you gotta love Amazon Prime! Yes, I know the event isn’t until the end of May in Calgary…but they say that luck favours the prepared, plus, I changed my mind on the outfit and decided to go with a different look once I found those shoes. ❤️. Next up on the style agenda…hair and makeup 💄. It literally took me 5 minutes on Google to find my inspiration.

More awesomeness…I’ve recently discovered a new brand of cosmetics, Nude by Nature – an Australian make-up brand that is “more than cosmetic, it’s good for you. Delivering high-performing natural formulas, the range features powerful native Australian ingredients such as Kakadu Plum and Quandong to provide antioxidant defence and benefit the skin. The products are made with 100% naturally derived ingredients, and formulated without synthetic ingredients or preservatives. Nude by Nature is proudly cruelty-free and PETA certified.” You can find this brand in Canada 🇨🇦 at your nearest Shoppers Drug Mart.

All that’s left now is the waiting…oh, and the date…but seeing how it’s 5 months away, attempting to secure a commitment this far in advance might be a little premature.
